We’re seeing an uptick in homeowners living in high-rise condo building developing their unique outdoor areas much like any other single-family homeowner. As an example, our team wanted to share with you a creative rooftop outdoor kitchen design concepted by Bill Batherson, a chiropractor by training, and Toni Wendel, owner and president of Olde World Builders and Remodelers.
Bill quickly caught on to the idea of outdoor living in the city. He used the beautiful New Orleans skyline as inspiration to transform the rooftop of his clock tower condo into a fully functional rooftop kitchen and entertainment area.
“I wanted to have great views of the downtown skyline and Crescent City Connection Bridge,” he said. “Because I have no prior experience designing outdoor kitchens, I let the space speak for itself in order to integrate these breathtaking views.”

“In order to create a fully functioning entertainment area, we also included an outdoor theater,” Bill explained. “The large size of the rooftop allowed us to accomplish everything we wanted so we are able to accommodate any entertainment scenario.”
Bill’s rooftop entertainment suite perfectly combines luxury with comfort. It may not be a traditional backyard, but it feels just as homey when sitting in the plush, wicker seating that overlooks the city.
